THE 2023 LAMBORGHINI WORLD FINALS WAS A RECORD-BREAKING AFFAIR.
The thunderous roars of Lamborghini engines echoed through Vallelunga as the 10th edition of the Lamborghini World Finals reached a thrilling conclusion, leaving a petrol-scented legacy in the wake of a record-breaking event that revved up the excitement of over 10,000 motorsport enthusiasts throughout the weekend. This milestone edition, dedicated to the high-octane world of Lamborghini motorsport, not only witnessed over 90 fierce competitors battling it out in 12 adrenaline-pumping races but also boasted an unprecedented showcase of 15 Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 hypercars hailing from every corner of the globe. They competed in four dedicated sessions seamlessly intertwined with the Lamborghini Super Trofeo races. The Vallelunga paddock transformed into a vibrant gallery celebrating a decade of Squadra Corse excellence with a spotlight on the newly-revealed LMDh SC63 that’s set to compete in the upcoming FIA WEC and IMSA Sportscar Championship seasons. The pit lane and paddock buzzed with excitement as the 15 Essenza cars and 39 teams supporting the Super Trofeo EVO2 cars, equipped with the gripping Hankook tires, captivated the onlookers.
The ACI Vallelunga conference centre played host to a Gala Night on November 18, where champions of the continental series were crowned in a massive celebration. The spotlight also turned towards the future, with the announcement that the 11th edition of the Lamborghini World Finals in 2024 will take place in Jerez de la Frontera from November 21 to 24 which marks the first return to the Iberian track since 2019. The stage was graced by Lamborghini Factory Drivers Andrea Caldarelli and Daniil Kvyat, officially confirming their roles in the crew set to dominate the IMSA and WEC circuits aboard the Lamborghini SC63. Adding a touch of exclusivity to the event was the Huracán STO SC 10th-anniversary edition, showcasing its unique Lamborghini Opera Unica persona equipped with a new Performance Kit crafted by Lamborghini Squadra Corse. In the spirit of giving back, November saw Automobili Lamborghini embrace the worldwide Movember movement, raising awareness and funds for male health issues. A dedicated booth, in collaboration with Gillette, provided a space for global information and fundraising efforts during the event. Nice one! The event also earned the prestigious UNI/ISO 20121:2013 certification from TUV Italia, marking its inaugural certification as a sustainable event after encouraging selective waste collection to reduce emissions and collaborations with local companies to ensure catering sustainability, featuring organic beverages and locally sourced food. The event also championed eco-friendly practices, minimizing packaging and single-use plastics in favour of bio-compostable cutlery and recyclable aluminium containers. The Lamborghini World Finals 2023 set a new benchmark for motorsport events, not just in speed but also in sustainability.
