A LAMBORGHINI THAT CAN CLIMB PAVEMENTS. THE URUS IS COMING!
A Porsche Cayenne or Range Rover not cool enough for you? Well don't worry no more, Lamborghinis SUV, the Urus is officially going into production. Audi, Lamborghinis parent company, has given the go-ahead for production of the new SUV at Lamborghini’s Sant’Agata Bolognese factory.
The strange looking Urus was first revealed to the world as a concept back in 2012, and rich housewifes everywhere can finally rejoice, because instead of driving into pavements, they can now drive straight over them!
As with all new and revolutionary vehicles, this is still a potential risk for Lamborghini, as they're ploughing hundreds of millions of dollars to make the Urus happen, so it needs to do well. The factory will grow to almost double its current size, with a new production line, warehouses and a bigger R&D department set to be built. Some 500 new employees are due to join the firm.
Around 3000 Urus models will be built a year, doubling the company’s current sales figures. Lamborghini expects the new SUV to be popular mainly in newer markets like the Middle East, China and Russia where a high status is becoming very popular, but strong sales are also expected in the USA, UK and Germany.
