ARE ELECTRIC CARS FLAWED, OR ARE THEY ACTUALLY BETTERING OUR ENVIRONMENT?

We have all heard the debate of whether or not electric cars are a good idea in the sense that they may be more harmful to the environment than traditional internal combustion engines or for the fact that they might be more of a pain in the arse than anything else as they don't have nearly enough range to be worth it, or worse, for the fact that they take a substantially longer time to charge in comparison to less than 5 minutes at the petrol station to refuel.

But we have to think of the bigger picture. Regardless of which side of the fence you're on, electric cars do offer some major advantages such as little to no road tax you have to pay in order to own one and even running and maintenance costs are but a fraction of that of an internal combustion engine.

Lastly, electric cars are usually worse for the environment to produce, but battery technology is dropping significantly in price thanks to the research and development invested in them already and new and improved recycling methods are being introduced almost on a bi-monthly basis. It is but a matter of time until internal combustion engines are going to be far too expensive to buy and maintain than their electric counterparts.
