AUDI’S NEW CHINESE EV BRAND UNVEILS THE E SUV CONCEPT: 500 KW OF PURE ELECTRIC POWER!
Audi is stepping into China’s electric future in style. Together with partners FAW and SAIC, the newly established Audi brand for China has revealed the E SUV concept, a bold glimpse of what’s next in the world of premium electric SUVs. With a 500 kW dual-motor setup and quattro all-wheel drive, this EV rocket sprints from 0–100 km/h in around five seconds, while a 109‑kWh battery promises 700+ km of range. And with 800‑volt architecture, 320 km of juice can be replenished in just ten minutes at a fast charger - blink, and it’s ready to go again. Stretching 5,057 mm long with a 3,060 mm wheelbase, the E SUV concept is a large, monolithic, and unmistakably Audi SUV. Its sculpted surfaces, short overhangs, wraparound lighting graphics, and vertically stacked Matrix LED headlights give it a presence that’s both confident and futuristic, while the interior balances roomy comfort with cutting-edge digital connectivity. Based on the Advanced Digitised Platform (ADP) co-developed with SAIC, it fuses Audi’s engineering heritage with innovations from China’s digital ecosystem.
Customised driver assistance systems under the Audi 360 Driving Assist banner make dense city traffic, highways, and even tight parking a breeze - all optimised specifically for Chinese roads and conditions. Fermín Soneira, CEO of the Audi-SAIC partnership, says it best: "The E SUV concept embodies our vision for premium electric mobility: sporty aesthetics, spacious versatility, and digital innovation - all fused with Audi’s engineering DNA." The production E SUV is set to launch in 2026 as the second model from Audi’s new Chinese brand - a statement that premium EVs in China will be fast, intelligent, and unmistakably Audi. Sorry, AUDI. The Chinese market is getting some great legacy automaker models that will make fans of the brand jealous in other parts of the world. It also makes you wonder why there is enough interest in the country for a full dedicated range of new cars exclusive to the country and why locals aren’t wanting one of the bazillion Chinese brands that are starting to litter the rest of the world?
