CARLEX DESIGN GOES RETRO-CHIQUE WITH 50S-INSPIRED G-WAGON MAKEOVERS - NAILS IT.

We love Carlex Design, easily one of the best aftermarket tuning companies on the planet, based in Czechowice-Dziedzice, on the southern side of Poland. When Carlex Design tackles a project or decides on a new theme for a car, there is nothing left untouched, and one of their most amazing skills is to completely transform an interior using the best of the best materials and designs with a result that is miles from what the manufacturer intended. The Carlex Design says: “Every time we work on a new project, our goal is always crystal clear: to create the greatest piece of art ever made. Our driving force rests on cutting-edge ideas. A design that ravishes and inspires – this is the basis for all our actions. Our experts implement exterior styling packs, developed by our designers, which comprise body kits, rims, exhaust systems, and car body conversion parts. We prepare our products in a relatively short time, starting from concept design, prototyping and preparing tools, to finish with the serial production of elements.” You must know that when you see a car that has any work on it from Carlex Design the work is completely custom as well as being as close to perfection as humanly possible. We’re confident enough to say that the finished product from Carlex is of such a high-quality fit and finish that it can make the likes of Mulliner for Bentley and even Rolls Royce look like rank amateurs. Their projects are as extensive as you can get, and the various themes they chose to give them are on point, a particular favourite being the G Falcon with its amazing etchings. There isn’t even another car to compare it to, and if you could find one, it would be a Carlex creation anyway.

The company’s current theme is called Carlex Vintage, and it’s all about taking the latest modern Mercedes-AMG G Class and giving it a classic 50s-inspired look with perfect retro styling. The recipe is simple - bespoke forged wheels, timeless body lines, and a sophisticated interior, all crafted with precision. While customers can choose from just about any colour imaginable, the suggested paintwork pallet of powdered paints stands out with subtle chrome embellishments straight out of a 50s Technicolor movie set, and it’s awesome. The offerings are a lot more demure than their regular work, but in a weird twist, the understated designs and colour make the wagons stand out more than a flashy and in-your-face modern look. To add to the look, the wagons get a custom wheel colour and roof, and for this project, they’re available in just 35 period correct colours. Each car gets a Carlex Vintage Design bodykit with perfectly crafted wheel arches and bumpers that see the cars 10 cm taller and 10 cm wider than a factory G63, custom-designed 20-inch forged aluminium wheels that are compatible with original Mercedes-Benz wheel caps and tailored exterior emblems and elements. Inside, are hand-stitched seats and console, and well, everything. The boot space is finished in leather and premium walnut wood. The whole range is awesome, the Fern G-Vintage, the Sky G-Vintage and the Fiamma G-Vintage. We'll leave all the images in full size, because they deserve it.

Take a look at the YouTube video that shows off some of the coolest work that Carlex Design has done, such an amazing execution of a brilliant theme - 50s-inspired retro on a modern G-Class just works. Well, Carles MAKES it work: Carlex Vintage Mercedes G-Class | CARLEX DESIGN
