CHASING THE LIGHT WITH A CLASSIC HAKOSUKA AND A R34 GT-R NISSAN SKYLINE
This is what dreams are made of if you're a fan of the Nissan Skyline. In this case, it's a classic Hakosuka meets an R34 GT-R.
We join Larry Chen from Hoonigan AutoFocus in Las Vegas, with a pair of Nissan Skylines. They're not just any Skyline's though, these are more special than that.
The Skyline R34 GT-R is more recognisable to the younger audience and, according to Larry, this one "it's not pretty badass, it's the most badass. I think it's probably the craziest R34 GT-R in the U.S." Impressive comments from a man whose job it is to photograph cars all around the world.
But, as good as that car is, it's the rare Hakosuka that is the star of the show. Owned by Roy De Guzman, this Skyline is where this JDM legend was born.
This particular car is possibly the best example of this classic in the country, it's a show-winner and was, at one point, turned into a HotWheels diecast model.
It's been through numerous makeovers and, currently, sports a Rocket Bunny body kit. The wheels are custom and large, with lowered springs bringing it closer to the road. The motor underneath the hood is a combination of a few different engines and looks like the boss.
So, as the sun sets over Las Vegas and Larry chases the light, these two stars glow with history and is a dream any JDM fan will admire.
