FROM ZUFFENHAUSEN TO OPEN WATER: PORSCHE BUILDS A BOAT TO MAKE AN AWESOME PAIRING FOR A CUSTOM MACAN. NICE.

Porsche doing a boat sounds like a pub rumour until you see it tied up at the dock looking absolutely right. The German–Austrian partnership between Porsche and Frauscher Boats is back, and at boot Düsseldorf 2026, the two brands will unveil their most ambitious creation yet: the Frauscher x Porsche 790 Spectre, a fully electric sports boat engineered around the powertrain of the Porsche Macan Turbo. To underline just how closely road and water are now intertwined, Porsche will also reveal the Macan Turbo Concept Lago, an extensively customised concept SUV that mirrors the boat’s design, materials and colour palette almost detail for detail. Add the German debut of the new Cayenne Electric, and Düsseldorf becomes less boat show, more floating Porsche design studo.

Just as Porsche has designed its electric cars from a clean sheet, Frauscher has taken the same no-compromise approach on water. The 790 Spectre has been developed entirely around Porsche’s high-performance electric drive system, integrating the 100 kWh high-voltage battery, 400 kW permanent magnet synchronous motor, and control electronics from the fully electric Macan Turbo. The result is a sports boat that’s lighter, shorter and narrower than previous Frauscher models, thanks to an all-new hull engineered specifically for electric propulsion. Agile, efficient and sharp-edged in both performance and design, it follows the same philosophy as the award-winning Frauscher x Porsche Fantom and its open-top Air sibling, but pushes the concept further.

At 7.97 m long, the 790 Spectre carries Porsche DNA well beyond the badge. Proportions, surfaces and detailing all echo the sports car brand’s design language, proving that performance identity travels surprisingly well from asphalt to open water. For the world premiere, Porsche is making the connection impossible to miss. Both the boat and the Macan Turbo Concept Lago are finished in Darkteal Metallic, a bespoke shade drawn from Porsche’s Paint to Sample programme. On the road, the Macan wears body-coloured sideblades with ‘Frauscher x Porsche’ lettering. On the water, the boat’s side elements are finished in high-gloss black with subtle ‘electric’ branding. For customers, the individualisation doesn’t stop there. The 790 Spectre can be ordered in virtually any colour, applied as an 11-layer paint finish directly at the boatyard.

Inside the 790 Spectre, the Porsche influence continues with a grin. The start button sits to the left of the steering wheel, just as it should. The steering wheel itself is wrapped in Porsche leatherette, the sports seats wear the Porsche Crest, and five round instruments feature classic Porsche graphics. Vertical stitching on the rear bench mirrors Porsche seat design, reinforcing the shared visual language. It’s unmistakably marine, but undeniably Porsche. That influence flows both ways. The Macan Turbo Concept Lago adopts yacht-inspired materials through Porsche’s Sonderwunsch programme. Both front and rear luggage compartments are lined in real wood, echoed inside with wooden door trim elements and floor mats that feel more deck than carpet.

In the cockpit, the Sport Chrono stopwatch makes way for a compass, perched proudly at the top of the dashboard. Seat centres are trimmed in marine-grade fabric, paired with Crayon leather bolsters and Night Green contrast stitching. Even the air vents are wrapped in Crayon leather, because of course they are. The finishing touch? Identically customised keys for both the SUV and the boat, painted in Darkteal Metallic.

While the Macan Turbo Concept Lago remains a design study, the Frauscher x Porsche 790 Spectre is available to order now. Customers can also now spec and personalise the Cayenne Electric, which makes its German debut in Düsseldorf. Porsche’s second fully electric SUV delivers up to 850 kW in Turbo specification and can tow up to 3.5 tonnes, making it a rather convincing electric tow vehicle for your matching electric boat.
