GERMAN TUNER BRABUS HOSTS FASHION SHOW WITH CUSTOM CARS AS MODELS.

BRABUS Signature Night is the culmination of the German tuner’s work, it’s an annual event hosted by the company to show off its latest and greatest upgrade packages at the top end of the market. They call it the BRABUS Masterpiece Collection, an utterly mind-blowing celebration of design, innovation and elegance - and not just for the 4-wheeled creations we’re all fans of. The company also has packages and tuning options available for bikes, boats and even fashion. While the tuner unveiled some pretty amazing stuff, the star of the show was undoubtedly the BRABUS ROCKET GTS, a coachbuilt shooting brake-style supercar based on the latest  Mercedes-AMG GT63 S E Performance. The upgrade is so damn good that if you weren’t told what the base car was, you likely wouldn’t be able to identify it. There’s a completely redesigned back end that drops the sedan boot seeing it replaced with a hatch, and there’s also a new front apron with an integrated spoiler, sculpted side skirts, wider rear arches, a rear apron with an exposed carbon diffuser, carbon-wrapped titanium tailpipes and 5-spoke BRABUS Monoblock P Platinum Edition centre-lock wheels with integrated carbon aero blades. BRABUS upgraded the twin-turbo V8 with electric assistance to churn out a whopping 735 kW and a staggering 1,820 Nm of torque, capped at 1,620 Nm. The V8 drives a 9-speed transmission and the power bump sees performance claimed at 2.6 seconds for a 0-100 km/h run, 9.5 seconds to get to 200 km/h and just 23.6 seconds to hit 300 km/h. Over and above the ROCKET GTS, there was also the BRABUS 700 BLUE SKY, a project based on the ultra-elite Rolls-Royce Cullinan, one of the world’s most luxurious SUVs. The SUV is littered with carbon fibre to make it rather easy on the eyes, and the twin-turbocharged V12 was tweaked to produce 515 kW and 950 Nm of torque, which translates into a 0-100 km/h run in 5.0 seconds and gives the thing a 250 km/h top speed.

The company invited clients, top industry celebs and a load of well-heeled automotive fanatics, you know, those types who can afford to shell out as much money on an upgrade package as they do on the original base car. Put it this way, we didn’t snatch an invite. Added to the lineup were the company’s latest packages for the new SMART range, the latest Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes-AMG range including a fleet of G Wagons including the wide-bodied BRABUS WIDESTAR, some boats like the Shadow 1000 Phantom Gray Signature Edition, bikes in the form of the BRABUS 1300 R Masterpiece Edition based on a KTM Super Duke, and more. In total, the tuner showcased a total of 36 upgrade packages for cars and bikes. Another new highlight of the event was the introduction of the BRABUS Masterpiece Clothing Collection for 2025 which the company says is “A bridge between automotive and fashion design, the brand new BRABUS Masterpiece Fashion Collection answers the question: How.” There’s a whole lot of leather, including handbags, dresses, jackets and more, along with some weird rings and bracelets. We’re not the target market, the leather jacket we like in the collection called ‘Leather Overall Carbon’ retails for €2,400, or a little over R46,000. The bracelet costs the same, and the ring we like but probably wouldn’t wear is €100 less. The company’s other fashion line, a colab with Root Atelier that was launched at the beginning of October, was shown off, but while checking what we liked in the lineup, which is quite a bit, to be honest, we noticed that it’s all already sold out. That’s impressive, and makes sense considering the pricing; hoodies went for the equivalent of R1,800 and Ts were just over a grand. The event looked properly impressive, it was as big and as bold as BRABUS itself, and it surely translated to confirmed orders and a new interest in the brand.
