HOW DO RALLY CARS MANAGE TO JUMP THE LENTH OF A FOOTBALL FIELD AND NOT BREAK?

Rally cars are second to none when it comes to performance and are purposefully designed for what they do. Rally racing and specifically the WRC (World Rally Championship) put cars through a tremendous amount of abuse and stress and there is no doubt that a regular road-going version of the cars used in the WRC would just be disintegrated in a couple of miles down the road.

Rally cars are completely stripped out and are reinforced to make their frames more rigid and strong to withstand the car catching some air and then slamming back down onto the gravel or snow road.

But this doesn't protect the driver at all from getting severely injured. Rally cars also have a very special type of coilover suspension with completely different dampening and shock absorbing settings which are suitable for this type of extreme motor racing.
