HOW RICHARD RAWLINGS CREATED FAST N' LOUD

Richard Rawlings explains how he started the infamous Discovery Channel car series Fast 'N Loud.

During an interview podcast on the Joe Rogan Experience, Richard Rawlings got asked the question of how he started Fast 'N Loud, which is now an international sensation, and what he was doing before he started Gas Monkey Garage.

Richard Rawlings explains that before he started Gas Monkey Garage he was a police officer and a firefighter. He has always had a passion for cars and bikes, but he also enjoyed simply watching car shows on TV.

What sparked the idea of Fast 'N Loud to Rawlings, was that he tried to figure out why his wife and daughter paid no interest to the car shows that he had so much enjoyed watching. He said, imagine a car show that could appeal to them and how much more of a market that would be.

He realised that those car shows he was watching at the time were quite egotistical and crude, he then thought what about a car show that would cater to all genders and ages. Thus, he started Gas Monkey Garage.

Since the start of the garage, he had been trying to turn it into a TV series. Eight years later, he finally got to start Fast 'N Loud.
