HYUNDAI'S AWESOME ELANTRA N TCR SET TO TAKE ITS ELECTRONIC PLACE IN GRAN TURISMO 7
Hyundai is continuing to blur the line between pit lane and PlayStation, announcing that the ELANTRA N TCR will soon take its place in Gran Turismo 7. Revealed during the Gran Turismo World Series 2025 World Final in Fukuoka, the move marks ten years of collaboration between Hyundai Motor Company and Polyphony Digital, a partnership that has quietly helped turn Hyundai N from left-field curiosity into a legitimate performance brand. Arriving in the game via the January 2026 update under the name ELANTRA N TC, the car represents both a motorsport heavyweight and a digital milestone. Its inclusion coincides with the 10th anniversary of Hyundai’s N brand, which first made waves with the wildly ambitious N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo concept at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. A decade later, the brand’s performance DNA is no longer theoretical; it’s being raced, won with, and now driven flat-out in one of the world’s most respected racing simulators.
The ELANTRA N TCR brings serious credibility to the virtual grid. In the real world, it’s one of the most successful touring cars of the modern era, claiming five consecutive class victories at the Nürburgring 24 Hours between 2021 and 2025, along with three straight FIA TCR World Tour Drivers’ Championship titles from 2022 to 2024. In Gran Turismo 7, that pedigree translates into a purpose-built race car designed for close competition, precise driving, and the kind of setup tinkering sim racers live for.
Beyond the car itself, the January 2026 update will deepen Hyundai N’s in-game presence with a dedicated N-themed menu at GT Café and expanded content within the Hyundai Museum at Brand Central. Players will be able to explore the evolution of the N brand, from ambitious concept cars to championship-winning touring machines, all without leaving the couch. The announcement took place at the Gran Turismo World Series World Final in Fukuoka, where Hyundai Motor and Polyphony Digital jointly reflected on their decade-long collaboration. On stage, Hyundai N leadership and Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi highlighted how the partnership has evolved from futuristic virtual concepts into a shared vision that connects real-world motorsport success with interactive digital experiences.
With the ELANTRA N TCR joining Gran Turismo 7, Hyundai continues to stake its claim in the growing world of e-motorsport, proving that performance credibility doesn’t stop at the chequered flag. Whether on the Nürburgring or a living room screen, the message is the same: N means business, even when the racing is virtual.
