IT'S THE 2024 FESTIVAL OF MOTORING AT KYALAMI - HERE'S A FEW NEW CAR LAUNCHES WE SPOTTED.

The Festival of Motoring has firmly established itself as the largest industry-backed auto show in South Africa and across the continent. It’s more than just a showcase - it’s a celebration of automotive passion and innovation. From the start, our mission has been clear: to build a vibrant community where industry leaders, dedicated motoring enthusiasts, and those on the hunt for their dream cars come together for an unforgettable day of adrenaline-fueled excitement and family fun. Thanks to the support of auto manufacturers and importers, the festival boasts 40 pit doors, each one leading to a world of automotive wonders. Visitors can explore over 150 exhibitors showcasing everything from the latest automotive products and services to lifestyle offerings and custom vehicles, ensuring there’s something to ignite every passion and satisfy every desire. But the Festival of Motoring isn’t just about what you see—it’s about what you feel. You can get behind the wheel of some cutting-edge models and experience the thrill of the iconic Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit, tackle the dynamic self-handling track, or take on the dedicated 4×4 off-road course in all manner of new and cool cars. When you’re ready for a break, dive into a hub of food vendors and live entertainment, rounding out an awesome experience, the only thing that might not play along is the weather, it looks like the weekend will have one last cold front before Spring kicks off. We headed through for the Media Day and spent time with a bunch of automakers revealing some new models for the local market. We spotted a few cool new models from the likes of Lamborghini, Volkswagen, Suzuki, Jeep, Fiat, BYD, BIAC, Omoda/Jaecoo, Ford and a few others. Thanks to a painful strained muscle, visiting all the stands was sadly not possible. Here are a few new launch models we spotted.

Volkswagen T-Cross

Volvo XC90 Adventure Beast

Ford Mustang GT

Suzuki Swift

Lamborghini Revuelto

Did you attend the show? Tell us your standout cars and experiences and share your pics and vids. We loved the Porsche dislay because Porsche is Porsche, but a standout car was the new BYD Seal. This Tesla Model 3 competitor will be on sale in SA by next year, and it's going to change the EV and performance car game with a 0-100 km/h launch in 3.8 seconds.

Take a look at the YouTube video that teases the kinds of things you will see and experience at this year's Festival of Motoring event. There's loads to see and do with some of the coolest cars on the planet. You can also see some of them hitting the circuit in anger, which is the biggest attraction for us: Festival of Motoring 2024 - Teaser Trailer | Messe Frankfurt South Africa
