LAMBORGHINI INVENTS ULTRA GT SEGMENT WITH THE ALL-ELECTRIC LANZADOR CONCEPT.

Lamborghini’s foray into fully-electric vehicles has resulted in what you see here, the Lanzador. This follows hot on the heels of the company’s first hybrid creation, the V12 plug-in hybrid. This one has that futuristic SUV styling, it’s a GT car with a 2+2 setup that the company has made so advanced that they say a new segment of car has been created - the Ultra GT. If it was any other automaker we’d take that with a pinch of salt, but this thing is the real deal. The Lanzador is meant to offer up typically over-the-top Lamborghini performance with all-new electric technologies in play, along with the versatility of the Urus. "With Lanzador we are looking into our future without forgetting our DNA. The first coupés from Lamborghini with their front engines were sporty, elegant Gran Turismos suitable for everyday use as 2+2-seaters. The concept for our fourth production model leverages our philosophy of super sportiness combined with brave new technologies and fearless design, perfectly fitting into our Direzione Cor Tauri strategy,” explains Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. In this case, Lamborghini has more focus on the software and control systems, and not the overall power and speed as per usual. "Lamborghini will define and differentiate itself in the future through a strategy of all active-control systems. We are taking Lamborghini integrated driving dynamics control to a whole new level, which has not been possible for production sports cars before and offers our customers a completely new driving experience," explains Rouven Mohr. “Finding the right balance between power, performance, range and aerodynamics is certainly one of the biggest challenges during development, but challenge is a cornerstone within Lamborghini R&D.”

The Lanzador will feature an electric motor on each axle to make the car all-wheel drive, and these will combine to create a reported 1 000 kW, or 1 megawatt of power. There will be lots of tech packed in like active e-torque vectoring on the rear axle, active aerodynamics, active suspension, torque distribution, wheelspeed control and more. The design of the Lanzador was is inspired by spaceships and it shows, even in the cabin it feels like you’re in a cockpit like a fighter pilot. “For me, the Lamborghini Lanzador is to date our most visionary and futuristic concept car, as well as delivering stunning looks and a new kind of beauty” says Mitja Borkert. “The proportions are new and unseen, with the potential to create an entirely new automotive segment. The Lanzador presents supers sports car volumes but with the pilot in a slightly higher position, echoing that of the Huracán Sterrato. It is designed for a new generation growing up in an era of high tech and digitalization, and demonstrates new and fresh ideas within Lamborghini in terms of our approach to authentically integrating sustainability, via an interior delivering more space and using innovative materials. The Lanzador is a brave and unexpected concept visualizing a potential future Lamborghini model, with an emotional design and Lamborghini-performance approach to creating a true Ultra GT,” emphasizes Borkert. To keep with futureproofing, the concept car has been created using a host of sustainable materials and 3D-printed composites. You’ll find regenerated nylon / recycled plastic, 3D-printed recycled fibres, regenerated carbon, 100 % merino wool, synthetic fibre from recycled plastic and new printing material for FDM (Fused Deposition Modelling) printing made from recycled waste like plastic bottles. It’s a true Lamborghini of the future, and a lot of what you see here in the Lanzador will be seen in upcoming Lamborghini models, especially on the electrification side considering the automaker has plans to electrify the entire product range by the end of 2024.

Take a look at the YouTube video that shows off the stunning new Lamborghini Lanzador concept, an all-electric SUV-looking thing that has that typically Lamborghini design architecture along with heaps of innovations and amazing new technologies. The concept is properly good-looking, and we can only hope that if the car makes it to production that it will look exactly like what you see here: Lamborghini Lanzador: Designed by new desires | Lamborghini
