MASERATI'S GRANTURISMO PRIMASERIE IS YET ANOTHER 75TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION RELEASE
Maserati’s GranTurismo first saw the light back in 2007 and was immediately a success thanks to the top-level luxury wrapped up in a super hot body with a healthy, roaring V8 giving it some decent performance. This was followed by the GranTurismo S in 2008, the GranTurismo MC in 2009 as well as the GranTurismo MC Sport Line and later on the Maserati GranTurismo Sport in 2019. It’s now the company’s 75th anniversary and to celebrate the automaker has released a new limited edition version that’s been dubbed the GranTurismo PrimaSerie. As is the norm when a celebratory model breaks cover, the numbers are limited but in a different way from how we normally see it done. There will be just 300 units available, but that 300 will be divided into two variations in two colours with a total of 150 units. The two special PrimaSerie configurations will be split between the GRIGIO LAMIERA and the NERO COMETA trims.
What you see here is the pair of Trofeo models that will be available. The model that looks grey is the one that’s called Grigio Lamiera Matte, and this car is finished in a paint that Maserati has dubbed as Nero Scarabeo Matte. This one features Corse Red accents on the logos, scripts, air vents, wheels and interior stitching, while the 75th-anniversary logo is found on the wheels and headrests, too. The Nero Cometa trim option is the one that looks like regular matt black, and it’s identical except for that paint colour and the fact that all the same accents are highlighted, but this time in a shade of mint green. The limited-edition Maseratis all see fitment of the Maserati’s Nettuno V6 engine, which is undoubtedly the main selling point of the cars. The Nettuno is a 3.0-litre V6 with twin turbochargers that has a power output of 463 kW and 730 Nm of torque.
