MERCEDES-MAYBACH SHOWS-OFF AT THE FRANKFURT MOTOR SHOW
Whether you see it as an opulence on wheels or a gorgeous land-yacht, the Mercedes-Maybach is a unique car with slim headlights, long bonnet, short windscreen, 'boat tail' rear end that's inspired by luxury yachts and massive 24-inch rims with centre locking.
At 5,700mm long, 2,100mm wide and 1,340mm tall, Maybach's 6 concept is an impressively large convertible, as it's 670mm longer, 201mm wider albeit 70mm lower than the already massive S-Class Cabriolet. The Mercedes-Maybach 6 Cabriolet's cabin is very high-tech, featuring biometric sensors that monitor the status of those inside, flowing display strip on the dashboard, and two head-up displays. You would probably expect at least a V12 under the hood, pumping a massive output to the wheels, but no. The Mercedes-Maybach features four electric motors that work together to deliver 750 horsepower.
For a boat on wheels, the Maybach 6 Convertible is very agile indeed, as it needs less than 4 seconds to go from rest to 100km/h (62mph), and it will keep sprinting up to a top speed electronically capped at 250km/h (155mph).
The Mercedes-Maybach 6 Cabriolet will on display until September 24 at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show.
