MORGAN ENDS PLUS SIX PRODUCTION WITH THE LIMITED EDITION PINNACLE - STYLISH.

The Morgan Motor Company is closing the chapter on its beloved Plus Six with a final run of just 30 exclusive models: the Plus Six Pinnacle. Slated to wrap production in early 2025, this limited edition isn’t just a car - it’s a tribute to over five decades of V8 and inline-6 excellence, from the original Plus 8’s debut in 1968 to the trailblazing Plus Six. The Plus Six Pinnacle pays homage to Morgan’s heritage while offering a distinctly modern touch. Each model features exclusive satin warm silver accents - from the wheels to the stone guard and dashboard. Selected for its subtle nod to champagne and victory, this tone elegantly complements any exterior colour choice, maintaining the car’s refined, neutral aesthetic. Morgan has also added a Le Mans-style flip-up fuel filler cap, polished to match newly designed exterior mirrors, interior mirrors, and a custom steering wheel centre - embodying the company’s dedication to both tradition and continuous innovation. The Plus Six Pinnacle embodies Morgan’s cutting-edge CX-generation aluminium bonded platform, the first to support a turbocharged engine. This was the basis not only for the Plus Six but also the Midsummer—the bespoke, Barchetta-inspired Plus Six designed with Pininfarina. With this edition, Morgan officially retires the high-capacity sports car silhouette, bringing to a close a nearly 60-year journey that began with the V8-powered Plus 8 and culminates with the formidable inline 6 Plus Six. The powerplant of choice comes from BMW in the form of a twin-turbocharged inline-6 that’s rated at 250 kW with 500 Nm of torque, and it’s mated to an 8-speed automatic with sport, sport+ and manual shift modes. The combination is good for a 0-100 km/h shunt in 4.2 seconds and it tops out at 267 km/h. It’s a sorta sleeper, this thing.  Morgan’s craftsmanship shines in the details, with the Pinnacle emblem thoughtfully inlaid throughout the car. This emblem represents the unity of Morgan’s artisans in creating each unique, coach-built sports car. Drawing inspiration from the rocky profiles of the Malvern Hills - where Morgan’s historic Pickersleigh Road headquarters sits - the emblem is a nod to Pinnacle Hill and the heights of engineering this model represents.

Inside, each Plus Six Pinnacle is a masterpiece of bespoke design. Morgan introduces three new leather options crafted with Bridge of Weir: Fawn (a light camel tan), Riviera (a soft blue), and Explore (a rich, pebble-grain dark brown). These luxurious leathers are paired with natural sheepskin carpets, designed to match each leather option and enhance the opulence of the cabin. And thanks to Morgan’s bespoke paint offerings, each exterior colour can be customized to each owner’s exact specifications - at no additional cost, which is a rare thing indeed. Morgan’s design team has also created a unique stitch pattern for the seats, a combination of pleats and quilts that rises vertically up the seatback, converging at the Pinnacle logo embroidered for the first time on a Plus model’s interior. This meticulous stitching that is also featured on the doors, requires skilled handwork to create a seamless blend of direction and pattern. Teak wood - a material introduced on the Midsummer - returns in the Plus Six Pinnacle as well, gracing the centre column and dashboard with a Japanese marquetry-inspired look. The Pinnacle logo, inlaid in aluminium, finishes the centre column for a refined touch. Morgan also uses wood elsewhere, many people heard these cars have a wooden chassis, but that was dropped many years back in favour of an aluminium chassis. The wooden component is the frame that the bodywork is on, Morgan uses Ash wood for the job. “As designers at Morgan, we spend a great deal of time gathering inspiration from countless sources and relish the opportunity to explore how these ideas can be applied to our cars. Being informed by our craftspeople, whilst experimenting with new materials and techniques, is what makes Morgan such a rewarding place to work. Plus Six Pinnacle commemorates the end of the line for one of our most-beloved models, and I believe it is a true reflection of the unique abilities and energy residing in the teams that have been responsible for it. The cars we create are exhilarating to drive but also offer an escape, providing a comforting, relaxing, and engaging natural environment through the use of high-quality materials. This project has enabled us to build upon this. Plus Six Pinnacle represents a truly befitting conclusion to the Plus Six story, and the team and I have greatly enjoyed crafting this special edition to celebrate everything this model stands for.” says Jonathan Wells, Chief Design Officer of the Morgan Motor Company. If you want one, they’re around £97,000, or about R2,200,000, but taxes and shopping will go on top of that.
