ORDERS ARE OPEN FOR THE 687 HP MERCEDES-AMG EQE 53 4MATIC+ -
After teasing for a few months, prospective buyers can now place their orders for the all-new AMG EQE 53 4MATIC+, the name’s a mouthful, but so is the spec list. This here performance EV saloon is based on the electro-exclusive Mercedes luxury and executive class architecture known as EVA2, and with the car running through the hands of the techs at AMG so that this quiet AMG still ensures a dynamic and emotively appealing driving experience. The changes made by the AMG side of the Affalterbach firm include suspension, brakes and even a sound upgrade to ensure the EV has the same, or near as damn, driving performance characteristics known to be typically AMG.
The EQE 53 4Matic+’s performance-oriented drive concept features one electric motor each on the front and rear axles that can afford the car a very healthy power output of 505 kW (687 hp) of power with a nice and even 1 000 Nm of torque. The car also features fully variable all-wheel drive that transmits the drive power to the road in all conditions, optimally. Even though it’s a sizeable slice of technology, the EQE 53 can accelerate from 0 - 100 km/h in as little as 3.3-seconds, and can rapidly run on to a top speed of 240 km/h. The EQE 53 4MATIC+ also sports 20-inch AMG light-alloy wheels in a 5-twin-spoke design, AMG Ride Control+ air suspension with adaptive adjustable damping and active rear-axle steering. Inside there’s also the Digital Light AMG-specific projection function, the AMG Sound Experience, AMG seats in Artico man-made leather with Microcut microfibre and red topstitching as well as an on-board ex-factory AMG performance steering wheel in Nappa leather with the hallmark AMG steering wheel buttons.
