REVIVING A $500 TOYOTA MR2 AND TAKING A TRIP TO STANCEWARS IN SEATTLE

What does it take to turn a $500 Toyota MR2 into a $20 000 Toyota MR2? Well, let's find out.

We join the guys from throtl as they prepare to refurbish and modify an old Toyota MR2. First things first, though, why this car? The short answer is that it's been sitting in their shop gathering dust and, with a car show called the MR2 Assemble coming up, it seems like the right time to do it.

To get started, new body kit parts, including rear wing, side-sills, front lip, new engine cover and a killer hood scoop are necessary. The latter requires chopping into the bonnet which, as you probably know, is a 'frunk' as the car has a mid-mounted engine.

Next up, stripping the cars' mechanicals, installing new suspension and brakes, and... waiting for more parts like wheels and tyres. If you've ever watched any of their other builds, like this Mazda FD RX-7, you'll know how awesome their cars turn out, so this project is definitely worth keeping your eye on.

As a bonus, the guys take a trip to Stancewars in Seattle and give us a tour of the terrific cars on show there.
