SADAIR'S SPEAR: KOENIGSEGGS'S TRACK-TAMING LEGEND-IN-THE-MAKING WITH A COOL 1,200 KW ON TAP.

Koenigsegg doesn’t do ordinary. When they drop a new hypercar, it’s an all-out assault on physics. And this time, the Swedish mad scientists have brought us Sadair’s Spear, a machine that fuses heartstring sentiment with face-melting performance. With more power, less weight, sharper aero, and a name pulled from Christian von Koenigsegg’s family history, this is less “limited edition” and more “mechanical deity in carbon fibre form.” “Sadair’s Spear” isn’t just a random mix of cool syllables. It’s a deeply personal nod to Koenigsegg founder Christian’s father, Jesko. Yes, that Jesko, whose lifelong passion for horse racing saw him compete as a gentleman jockey. In his final race in 1976, Jesko rode a horse named Sadair’s Spear. Fast-forward nearly 50 years, and that name now adorns a hypercar engineered to charge like a thoroughbred, only this one screams at 8,500 rpm and can break lap records while you’re still blinking. Sadair’s Spear takes everything bonkers about the Jesko Attack and dials it past eleven. It’s got the same savage twin-turbocharged 5.0-litre V8 at its heart, but with a few extra, sharper lungs to breathe with. Thanks to enhanced airflow, upgraded cooling, and a fresh ECU calibration, it now punches out 969 kW (1,300 hp) on regular pump fuel - and a full 1,212 kW (1,625 hp) when running E85. Not bad for something still classed as road legal. Even more impressive? It weighs 35 kg less than the already-featherweight Jesko Attack, which means its power-to-weight ratio has passed the mythical 1:1 mark Koenigsegg pioneered. In fact, this thing now exceeds that benchmark, making it the most potent street-legal Koenigsegg ever. The aero package is pure Koenigsegg lunacy: top-mounted twin-blade active rear wing, larger front canards, new hood vents, and an upgraded diffuser setup that works in unison with underfloor strakes and louvres to create vacuum-like downforce. There’s even a Gurney flap integrated into the front vent system. Translation? More grip, more cooling, and more reason to keep your eyes glued to the road. It rides on a front Triplex damper setup and features Koenigsegg’s advanced Active Ride Height system, so you can hammer it down a track or cruise into a five-star hotel - without scraping that carbon chin.

Climb into the cabin and you’ll find that Koenigsegg has shaved weight without deleting the soul. Gone is the traditional gear lever - all shifts are now done via wheel-mounted paddles linked to the Light Speed Transmission (LST), a flywheel-free masterpiece that responds at a dizzying 46,000 rpm per second. That’s not a typo. The cockpit features race-bred carbon seats, lightweight soundproofing, and optional 6-point harnesses. But don’t think it’s stripped bare - you still get the SmartCluster driver display, SmartCenter infotainment hub, USB ports, inductive phone charging, and Koenigsegg’s signature Autoskin system, which lets you open the car like a Transformer. Even before it’s had a proper go at the Nürburgring or Spa, Sadair’s Spear has already dropped jaws at Gotland Ring in Sweden. During initial tests, it smashed the Jesko Attack’s lap record by 1.1 seconds - and that’s before any fine-tuning. True to Koenigsegg form, production is capped at a ludicrously low 30 units, and of course, every single one was spoken for at the private unveiling. No press hype needed - just the whisper of a new Koenigsegg and the world’s wealthiest petrolheads come running. Sadair’s Spear isn’t just another multimillion-euro hypercar. It’s a story. A tribute. A mechanical love letter to heritage, family, and pure, undiluted performance. It honours Jesko von Koenigsegg’s final ride, while offering its lucky owners a first-class ticket to performance nirvana. Christian von Koenigsegg states: “Sadair’s Spear represents a natural progression for Koenigsegg - an impeccable balance of raw power, refined aerodynamics, and extraordinary road presence. This car is destined to set records. Achieving such track dominance in a fully road-legal vehicle is nothing short of remarkable.”
