THE 2026 CORVETTE ZR1X HAS ARRIVED - WITH 1,250 HP AND ELECTRIFIED ALL-WHEEL DRIVE - ALL THE SCREAMING EAGLES!
Chevrolet isn’t just playing in the hypercar arena anymore - they’ve stormed the gates with fireworks, bald eagles, and 1,250 horses of twin-turbo, AWD fury. Meet the 2026 Corvette ZR1X, the wildest, most advanced production Corvette ever built. It’s a 1,250 hp (932 kW) electrified monster with all-wheel drive, sub-2-second 0-100 km/h sprints, and a quarter mile time that starts with an eight. America’s in the hypercar game, and it’s not holding back. At the core of the ZR1X is the new LT7 twin-turbo 5.5-litre flat-plane crank V8, hand-built and straight out of Chevy’s speed-obsessed dreams. Developed alongside the Z06’s high-revving screamer and the GT3.R’s endurance-ready heart, this beast cranks out:
1,064 hp (793 kW) @ 7,000 rpm
1,123 Nm of torque @ 6,000 rpm
Dual 76-mm turbos with an integrated "maniturbo" exhaust design for immediate response
Dynamic anti-lag to keep boost primed for throttle-on chaos
8-speed dual-clutch transmission, sending all of that chaos straight to the rear wheels
But wait, that’s not all. This ZR1X isn’t just about rear-drive tradition. It brings the future with it, too.
eAWD: Electrified Grip Meets Brutal Pace
ZR1X builds on the foundation of the E-Ray and takes it to the next level. An electric front motor adds another 139 kW and 196 Nm, giving the ZR1X:
A combined total of 1,250 hp (932 kW)
AWD grip that launches it from 0-100 km/h in around 2 seconds
Quarter mile blasts under 9 seconds with trap speeds over 240 km/h
eAWD functionality up to 160 mph before the front motor disengages for top-end RWD glory
This isn’t a plug-in hybrid, though - the 1.9 kWh battery lives low in the car’s chassis spine and recharges through regen only. It’s been track-tested around the globe, including GM’s gruelling 24-hour durability test, and features upgraded usable energy for more laps and stronger front-drive torque deployment.
Stopping this much speed requires something special, and the ZR1X brings it. The all-new J59 braking package features:
Alcon 10-piston front and 6-piston rear calipers
16.5-inch carbon ceramic discs front and rear - the biggest ever on a Corvette
Tested to withstand brutal deceleration: up to 1.9G from 180 to 120 mph
Two chassis setups let owners tailor their ZR1X to their kind of crazy:
Standard chassis with Magnetic Ride Control and Michelin PS4S tires – fast, comfortable, and ready to carve
ZTK Performance Package: firmer springs and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tires – for drivers chasing apexes and lap records
For maximum aero mayhem, the Carbon Aero Package delivers:
Dive planes
Underbody strakes
Hood gurney lip
Massive rear wing
All together, it creates 1,200 lbs of downforce at top speed. It comes standard on ZTK-equipped ZR1Xs and can be added to the standard chassis configuration. With the ZR1X, Chevrolet has redefined what a Corvette can be - and what an American hypercar looks like. This is a purpose-built, twin-turbo, hybrid-assisted, AWD ballistic missile that’s equally at home on Route 66 or ripping apexes at Sebring. ZR1 was the beast. ZR1X is the evolution. Let freedom rev.
