THE NEW BMW M2 CS HAS ARRIVED - ITS GONNA BE ONE POPULAR HIGH-PERFORMANCE COUPE! TWILIGHT PURPLE FOR US, PLEASE.

Kempton Park residents, prepare your face-biting game - the all-new BMW M2 CS has landed, and it’s ready to knock the teeth out of the compact performance car segment. Based on the already nutty second-gen M2, this limited-edition CS cranks everything up - more power, less weight, sharper dynamics, and the kind of aggressive styling that’ll make even a tuned E36 blush. And in Twilight Purple with gold wheels? That’s not just a spec, that’s art.

Under the sculpted bonnet sits the familiar 3.0-litre straight-six, but this time it's dialled up to 390 kW (that’s 523 horses) and 650 Nm of torque, making it the most powerful M2 ever. That’s 37 kW more than the standard M2, putting it level with the big boys like the M3 Competition xDrive and M4 Competition xDrive. But here’s the twist - it sends all that fury exclusively to the rear wheels via BMW’s 8-speed M Steptronic ‘box with Drivelogic. Big power, rear-drive, no excuses.

It’s not just brute force either - BMW M went on a diet with this one. Thanks to a hardcore dose of carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) inside and out, including the roof, bootlid, front splitter, and interior trim, the M2 CS tips the scales around 30 kg lighter than the base M2. Every gram counts when you're chasing tenths.

This isn’t a regular M2 with a fancy badge. The CS packs engine internals straight out of BMW’s GT3 playbook - forged crankshaft, sleeveless closed-deck block, 3D-printed cylinder head core, wire-arc sprayed iron cylinder walls – the whole nerdy, high-revving, motorsport spec sheet. The response? Lightning quick. The feel? Pure racecar. The rev limit? A spicy 7,200 rpm. Oh, and the CS comes with its own unique engine mounts for even tighter response and more visceral feedback.

Performance? Glad you asked:

0–100 km/h: 3.8 seconds

0–200 km/h: 11.7 seconds

Mid-range 80–120 km/h: 3.4 seconds

Top speed: 302 km/h (limited, M Driver’s Package standard)

And if you're timing with the “1-foot rollout” drag strip method? You’re looking at 3.5 seconds to 100 and 11.4 to 200. It’s not just fast - it’s freaking feral. Backing all that fury is a proper M soundtrack courtesy of a bespoke M exhaust system with four matte black tips and active flaps. It snarls, pops, and barks with even more bite when SPORT or SPORT+ is selected. Want something wilder? BMW offers a titanium M Performance exhaust with carbon tips, developed just for the CS - lighter, louder, and racier. Every inch of the M2 CS looks like it’s been to the gym, skipped cardio, and lived on protein shakes and Nürburgring laps. CFRP elements dominate - the carbon roof, boot spoiler, mirror caps, diffuser, and interior trim aren’t just for show – they’re part of the performance. Even the forged M wheels (wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2s, if you tick the right box) scream motorsport. There’s a CS-specific black kidney grille, an aggressive matte black splitter, and a sexy ducktail spoiler that’s more than a little retro-chic. Choose from Sapphire Black, Velvet Blue, M Brooklyn Grey, and M Portimao Blue, but real ones know: Twilight Purple with gold wheels is where the magic happens. That’s not a spec, that’s a lifestyle. Step inside, and the vibe continues. You get M Carbon bucket seats wrapped in Merino leather, with removable headrests for race harness compatibility and an illuminated “CS” logo for maximum drama. The CFRP centre console cuts weight, while red “CS” logos, carbon trim, and a proper Alcantara M steering wheel (with a red 12 o’clock marker and M-mode buttons) hammer home the hardcore intent. Oh, and ambient lighting is in play, but when it’s off, you get a trick carbon pattern that glows like a synthwave track after midnight. And if you see one in Twilight Purple with gold wheels parked up at events, that’s how you’ll know I won the lotto.
