SINGER'S SORCERER - A STUNNING CLIENT COMMISSION THAT SCREAMS PAST 9,000 RPM!

Singer’s latest creation, named Sorcerer by its owner, is the first Porsche 911 reimagined through the brand’s ferociously ambitious DLS Turbo services. It is a machine that blends old-school air-cooled mystique with modern turbocharged muscle, wrapped in craftsmanship so precise it feels more like horology than car building. Visually, Sorcerer doesn’t play. Finished in a mesmerising graduated Fantasia Blue that deepens toward the tail, it wears a track-focused front fascia and a towering rear wing inspired by endurance racing’s wilder years. Lightweight carbon fibre bodywork nods to the rare 934.5 of the late 1970s, while 7-spoke forged magnesium centre-lock wheels, finished in Champagne, anchor the whole thing to the road like jewellery with violent intentions.

At the heart of Sorcerer sits a flat-six that feels less rebuilt and more reborn. Based on the Type 964 engine and developed through Singer’s DLS programme, this 3.8-litre, twin-turbocharged masterpiece produces 530 kW and 750 Nm of torque, while revving beyond the 9,000 rpm mark, which is rather freaking bonkers! This is the first Singer engine to combine water-cooled cylinder heads with air-cooled cylinders, assisted by an electrically powered horizontal fan. Twin turbochargers with variable turbine geometry deliver punch and elasticity, without dulling the razor-sharp response that defines the DLS character. Power flows through a 6-speed manual transmission and is sent exclusively to the rear wheels. The raised shifter with its exposed mechanism sits proudly on display, a piece of functional sculpture. A hybrid Inconel and titanium exhaust exits through the sides, ensuring the soundtrack matches the numbers.

Sorcerer is restored around the original Type 964 steel monocoque, stripped back to its essence, assessed, cleaned, and then strengthened to enhance rigidity. Over this foundation, Singer applies lightweight carbon fibre panels shaped using CFD analysis, optimising airflow, cooling and stability while shaving weight and sharpening responses. The owner opted for Singer’s more dramatic, track-leaning configuration, with a deep front spoiler and raised rear wing, while satin carbon fibre lower trim and black anodised upper accents complete the exterior.

Inside, Singer does what Singer does best. The seats are trimmed in Pebble Grey leather, with Pearl Grey Alcantara centres and delicate Champagne piping. Bright trim elements are finished in Champagne, contrasted by satin carbon fibre in the lower cabin. Ahead of the driver, the classic 911 instrument layout is reimagined with hand-built floating gauges, each framed by Champagne bezels. They feel less like dials and more like something lifted from a high-end watch atelier. A rear cross-brace reinforces the car’s focused intent, while technology remains discreet, offering navigation and phone connectivity without breaking the analogue spell.

Performance is underpinned by serious hardware. A double wishbone front suspension is paired with lightweight trailing arms at the rear, delivering precision without robbing the car of feel. Braking comes courtesy of CCM-R carbon ceramic discs clamped by monobloc calipers, equally at home on road or circuit. Grip is provided by Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres, wrapped around 19-inch front and 20-inch rear forged magnesium centre-lock wheels, finished in Champagne to match the car’s finer details. A nose-lift system adds a touch of real-world usability. The owner can choose from five drive modes: Road, Sport, Track, Off and Weather, adjusting the traction control and stability systems developed in collaboration with Bosch.

Each Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer is a deeply personal collaboration, and DLS Turbo restorations are carried out at Singer’s UK facility. Clients often name their cars at the start of the process. In this case, Sorcerer feels less like a nickname and more like a warning.
