HISTORY HAS BEEN MADE - CADILLAC F1 MAKES FIRST TRACK MARK AT SILVERSTONE.
History in motion. The Cadillac Formula 1 Team hit the Silverstone tarmac today, as Checo Perez completed the team’s very first on-track laps - a milestone moment for the American squad gearing up for its 2026 debut. The car, cloaked entirely in stealthy black but still looking absolutely freaking awesome, took part in a pre-season promotional shakedown, blending live footage for fans with a chance to iron out systems ahead of official testing. When the full 2026 livery drops on Sunday, February 8, it will showcase Cadillac’s bold new identity on the global stage. Dan Towriss, CEO of Cadillac F1® Team Holdings, summed it up: “Watching the car roll out of the garage today was a moment of pride. These first laps mark the culmination of thousands of hours of passion and work. Graeme and the team have assembled absolute racers, and this is just the start - Melbourne is coming.” Team Principal Graeme Lowdon added: “This day reflects the dedication and belief of everyone involved. It’s a glimpse of progress, a chance to gel, test systems, and prepare for pre-season. The real work begins now, but today, Cadillac F1® made its mark.”
Checo Perez commented, “Today was really an amazing day. Everyone should feel incredibly proud to complete our first laps as a team. Each and every person has worked so hard to get to this moment and it was emotional to be part of motorsport history. We can, and should, all enjoy, but it’s absolutely fired me up for more. I just want to get back in and get mileage – this is just the start.”
Valtteri Bottas added in: “As a team we made history today with the Cadillac Formula 1® Team car taking to the track for the first time. Checo put in the first laps with the car running smoothly. I’m proud of the whole team for getting to this point, which is really impressive. It was special to be part of this moment and witness the joy from the team. Our first day is done and now we push on.”
