THE ALL-NEW BMW 1-SERIES DEBUTS IN ROCKET LEAGUE COMPLETE WITH DECAL DESIGN COMP.

This is one for the Rocket League fans! As Season 16 gears up to launch, BMW is heading straight into the action with the debut of the all-new BMW 1 Series in Epic Games' massively popular online sensation. For the uninitiated, Rocket League is more than just car soccer - it's an adrenaline-pumping battle of strategy, skill, and outlandish stunts, where victory hangs on your ability to outmanoeuvre opponents and slam that oversized ball into the back of the net. But in typical fashion these days, this isn't just any in-game debut. BMW and Epic Games are kicking things off with a bang by launching a global competition that invites gamers to leave their mark on the new 1 Series. The challenge? Design a decal that embodies their style. The reward is rather epic, the winning design will roll out as part of a mid-season patch, available for all to see on a worldwide platform. Customization in Rocket League isn’t just a feature; it’s the main point of the game. From decals to wheels and every possible accessory in between, personalising your digital ride is how you show the world who you are, just like those nutters at car meets and park-offs. The new BMW 1 Series is no exception. It’ll hit the game in cool Skyscraper Grey metallic paint, ready to be decked out with a variety of universal decals, wheels, toppers, and antennas. BMW has teamed up with Epic Games to deliver exclusive decals and liveries that’ll make your in-game ride as iconic as the real deal. We’re expecting to see game designs appear on real-life cars too, it’s how these things go. To fuel the hype and tap into the creativity of the Rocket League community, BMW and Epic Games are rolling out the Rocket League x BMW Decal Design Contest. From August 9 to August 30, 2024, you’ll have the chance to create your dream design for the new BMW 1 Series. With 2D sketches available at b.mw/DecalContest, the possibilities are endless - whether you’re going digital, breaking out the pencils, or even splashing some paint around. Once your masterpiece is ready, simply share it on Instagram and X with the hashtags #RocketLeagueBMWDecalContest and #Contest.

Come mid-October, the best of the best will be celebrated in a live-streamed award show. The top three designers won’t just earn bragging rights; they’ll walk away with $3,000 for first place, $2,000 for second, and $1,000 for third - translate that to Rands at the current exchange rate and that’s a pretty penny to be won. Over R50k! Plus, the winning design will be integrated into the game as part of a mid-season patch, giving you the ultimate bragging rights when you see your creation zipping around the pitch. In the real world, the new BMW 1 Series isn’t just another compact car—it’s a game-changer. With its sporty stance, cutting-edge digitalization, and dynamic driving experience, it’s designed to deliver BMW’s trademark driving pleasure in a compact package. Powered by the latest BMW iDrive system, built on BMW Operating System 9, the new 1 Series offers an ultra-personalized digital experience. But the fun doesn’t stop there. With in-car gaming on the BMW Curved Display via the AirConsole platform, the 1 Series is pioneering a new kind of entertainment. Whether you’re chilling with a round of "Who wants to be a millionaire?" or going head-to-head in "Starlit Kart," the 1 Series makes sure that the fun continues even when the wheels aren’t turning. And all you need is your smartphone to get in on the action. Rocket League Season 15 debuted in June, this one hit the ground spinning on a grassier new variant of Salty Shores and with Season 15’s Rocket Pass Premium gamers can auto-unlock the Nissan Fairlady Z Car Body. Rising up the tiers will see players unlock the Nissan Fairlady Z RLE Car Body and the punk rock-reminiscent Mosher Boost and Power Chord Goal Explosion.
