THE NEW PAGANI UTOPIA ROADSTER IS A ROLLING WORK OF OPEN-TOP ART - WITH 635 KW.

Ladies and gentlemen, feast your eyes on the Pagani Automobili Utopia Roadster – a car that offers the visceral thrill of both open and closed driving, without sacrificing an ounce of the Utopia Coupé's legendary performance and agility. This marvel of design is a masterclass in attention to detail, with a hardtop that seamlessly integrates into the car’s sleek profile. Thanks to cutting-edge composite materials and state-of-the-art tech, the Utopia Roadster tips the scales at a featherlight 1,280 kg, mirroring its coupé sibling. Under the hood lies the heart of a purist's dream: the Pagani V12. No hybrid nonsense here – just pure, unadulterated mechanical beauty. And for the first time, this hypercar features the groundbreaking Pirelli Cyber™ Tyre. This innovative system allows the tyres to communicate with the car, enhancing safety in ways we've never seen before. Every Utopia Roadster is a bespoke masterpiece, with a plethora of customization options that ensure no two are alike. The launch model, showcased at the prestigious Monterey Car Week, flaunted the optional Sport Pack configuration. Fully road-legal and compliant with the strictest safety and emissions regulations worldwide, the Utopia Roadster is ready to thrill hypercar enthusiasts across the globe. “Here it is, the Utopia Roadster, the latest creation from our Atelier – the pinnacle of our relentless quest to fuse cutting-edge technology with timeless design,” said Horacio Pagani. “Finding the words to describe our passion-driven projects is always a challenge, so we’ve handed this task to a dear old friend, Dr. Robert Puyal, an independent journalist and wordsmith who has accompanied us on this journey. His impressions will give you a true sense of our new hypercar. You are in good hands.” Now, let’s get into the nitty-gritty. Gran Turismo fans have long debated the merits of closed versus open cabins. Both camps have their die-hard supporters, and Pagani’s answer to this age-old dilemma is simple: offer both and let the enthusiasts decide. Typically, the performance purists lean towards coupés, citing their lighter, more agile nature. But with the Utopia Roadster, that argument is null and void. This open-top beast is just as light, nimble, and high-performing as its coupé counterpart.

The design continuity is evident, with the same team of designers and engineers crafting both versions under Horacio Pagani’s meticulous eye in the Modenese Atelier. The Roadster's butterfly doors are a mechanical ballet, elegant and sophisticated. And when you want to feel the wind in your hair, the hard top stows away neatly, turning into a piece of art to be admired. There’s also a soft top, easily stored in a suitcase behind the seats, allowing the car to morph between three distinct versions depending on the season, mood, or desire for open-air exhilaration. The Utopia Roadster’s advanced material fabrication is a marvel, extending beyond carbon to include exquisitely crafted metal components. The suspension triangles, forged from aircraft-grade aluminium alloy, ensure both strength and lightness. Thanks to the rebirth of Modena Design, Pagani’s historic in-house company, they now have total control over the production of aluminium, titanium, and special metal components, from design through to milling from solid metal. Staying true to its roots, Pagani has kept the V12 engine, in collaboration with Mercedes-AMG. Each engine is assembled by a single craftsman, a true artist of mechanics. With a power output of 635 kW, this engine is as versatile as it is powerful, offering smooth low-rev performance and explosive acceleration on demand. Turbo response is immediate, thanks in part to the colossal 1,100 Nm of torque. No heavy batteries, no hybrid systems – just the glorious roar of a V12. The transmission, developed with British firm Xtrac, can handle the immense torque of the twin-turbo V12 while ensuring smooth operation in all conditions. This seven-speed manual gearbox, compact and transverse-mounted behind the engine, is paired with a lightweight, adjustable triple-disc clutch, making every gear change an event to savour.
