THE EVOLUTION OF KOENIGSEGG - 25 YEARS OF THE SWEDISH HYPERCAR
In 1994, a Swedish 22-year-old petrolhead by the name of Christian Von Koenigsegg did the unthinkable and founded his own car company which he called simply Koenigsegg.
After a short two years, Koenigsegg released its first prototype sportscar that was inspired by a Ferrari F40 and a McLaren F1, and in Christian's own words: "The prototype was supposed to be a minimalistic, pure, no nonsense supercar with a Swedish twist to it".
After years of perfecting and tweaking the prototype, Koenigsegg's first production model was made and that was the CC8S which was launched in 2002 and was an ultimate success for the company, even though only 6 samples were ever made. "The CC8S laid the foundation for all Koenigsegg car models when it comes to aesthetics, philosophy and functionality" - Christian Von Koenigsegg.
