THE LAMBORGHINI URUS PERFORMANTE SPECIAL EDITION IS NOW AVAILABLE - BUT THERE'S A BIG CATCH.
Lamborghini continues its onslaught of introducing amazing cars to the planet with the reveal of the ultra-limited edition Urus Performante that goes by the name of the Lamborghini Urus SC-V12 Edition. As the name suggests, this is a car that’s been built as a homage to the Essenza SCV12. The cool parts of the Urus Special Edition are highlighted by the extensive use of exposed carbon fibre elements with a glossy or matte finish, echoing the treatment of the bodywork chosen by the customer: not only the carbon fibre engine hood and roof are in carbon fibre, but also the rocker covers, mirrors, and the carbon fibre frame with the Lamborghini logo set between the rear light clusters. That’s pretty damn cool. Lamborghini’s Centro Stile designers created a dedicated Ad Personam livery with colour combinations tailored to customer requests. Along with a two-tone colour scheme, originating from the combination of all the carbon fibre elements, the lower section of the car is black with a contrasting colour line that is repeated on the roof arch. The body colours and livery were chosen exclusively by each customer and these echo those of their Essenza SCV12 cars. This includes the distinctive number painted on the doors. All models are also equipped with 23-inch gloss black wheels and black brake calipers as stock, but customers can choose the style and colours of wheels and calipers from those available. “The Lamborghini Urus SC-V12 Edition is the most expressive and detailed livery we have ever created” commented Mitja Borkert, Lamborghini Head of Design. “It is exclusively linked and designed personally for each of the 40 customers of the Lamborghini Essenza SCV12. The livery of the Urus SCV12 is painted black in the lower part to deliver even sportier proportions on the Urus, and the exterior colour is directly linked with the exclusive colour of the Essenza SC-V12, with a coloured pinstripe connecting the front, side and rear graphically. The result is a stormy, unique and colourful limited series of Urus.”
The cabin features Nero Cosmus Alcantara upholstery with leather details, carbon fibre decorations in a choice of gloss or matte finish, black anodized aluminium elements, and a Dark Package minus the red door handles. The carbon fibre details also include a decorative element on the passenger side of the dashboard and the kick plates with the Essenza SCV12 logo and silhouette. To make the trim even more unique, two celebratory carbon fibre plaques are included in the passenger compartment, one with the Lamborghini 60th Anniversary logo, and the other with the vehicle number or the customer’s name. Under the hood of this Urus Performante is a twin-turbo V8 engine producing 490 kW with 850 Nm of torque. This means the limited-number Performante can launch from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and has a massive top speed of 306 km/h. The catch for owning one of these special Lamborghini SUVs is that you have to be an owner of one of the also limited edition track-prepped $2 500 000 Lamborghini Essenza SCV12, which also only saw 40 units produced. Guess us mere mortals will have to be happy with seeing them in YouTube videos as part of a bazillionaire’s private collection.
