THE MASERATI GHIBLI RECEIVES A FACELIFT AND GRANLUSSO BADGING!
The Maserati Ghibli executive saloon has been given a new look, a new name and some new awesome technology!
Maserati revealed the 2018 facelift for the Ghibli saloon, giving it a small rename and introducing some style changes and new tech.
The Ghibli is four years old this year and is now know as the Ghibli GranLusso. The refreshed car is due to make its debut in the metal at the Chengdu Motorshow in China.
Admittedly, the style and design changes aren't too huge. The front bumper is new and now features some chrome inserts, while the grille has been altered too and is also chrome – this brings the Ghibli in line with the newer Levante SUV.
In addition, new GranLusso badging now appears on the side skirts, and the back rear apron has been slightly tweaked. Maserati reckons that the new rear bumper makes the car more sporty-looking, and it's joined by a redesigned diffuser element.
Although the makeover is subtle, Maserati claims that the tweaks all add up to a substantial aerodynamic benefit.
Another new addition to the Ghibli is the adaptive full LED headlights, and new, unspecified semi-autonomous driving features are also part of the refresh package.
UK prices and specifics have not yet been revealed and neither has a release date.
