Most of us know about Elon Musk smashing his McLaren F1 before it had been insured, allegedly saying "watch this", right before the accident.

His isn't an isolated incident, and many of these cars have a colourful history too. We join Car Throttle as they reveal the astonishing stories connected to some of the others, who bought them, what they were used for and, often, where they've ended up.

For instance, did you know that Rowan Atkinson crashed his McLaren F1 so severely that the engine and gearbox were ripped out of the car? The insurance claim to have it fixed was for a whopping 910,000 pounds!
