THE RIMAC NEVERA R FOUNDER’S EDITION IS THE HYPERCAR THAT COMES WITH THE KEYS TO THE KINGDOM FOR A LUCKY AND WEALTHY FEW

Limited to just ten cars worldwide, every one bespoke, this is less a model launch and more a velvet-rope invitation into the inner sanctum of one of the most disruptive automotive brands on the planet. Tellingly, the Nevera R Founder’s Edition was never publicly announced at first. It was quietly offered to a select few earlier this year, and every allocation was snapped up within a week. If exclusivity is a currency, Rimac just minted a new denomination. The car may wear the badge, but the real product here is access, influence, and a deeply personal connection to the future of the brand. Ownership begins not with a brochure, but with a seat at the table. Each Founder travels to the Rimac Campus in Zagreb for an immersive configuration session alongside Mate Rimac himself, Design Director Frank Heyl, and the in-house design team. Using advanced V-RED visualisation software, colours, materials and finishes are adjusted in real time, turning the process into a collaborative design exercise rather than a tick-box affair. This ethos carries through to the cars themselves. The Founder’s Edition features a striking two-tone exterior, split along the car’s natural geometry to visually lower the stance and amplify its aggressive, forward-leaning posture. It’s a design statement that avoids gimmicks, instead using form and proportion to create something instantly recognisable and quietly menacing.

Details are where the Founders’ cars really start to impress. An ultra-thin central stripe runs over the roof, narrowing to just 2 mm at its slimmest point, incorporating Rimac’s cravat motif and subtle circuit-board graphics. Inside, bespoke embroidery on the door panels marks three defining moments in Rimac history, from the early garage days to the Concept_One and the record-shattering Nevera era. Even the seating layout can be asymmetrical, echoing Mate Rimac’s own personal Nevera. Each car tells its owner’s story, whether through hand-stitched interiors, custom paintwork, or materials sourced to match other vehicles in a collector’s garage. One car features purple leather throughout, another replicates a precise indigo blue from a different car in its owner’s collection. No two are alike, and that’s entirely the point.

The Founder’s Edition experience doesn’t end when the car is delivered. Far from it. Membership of the Founders’ Club unlocks a level of access that borders on surreal. Priority invitations to future product previews, direct entry to Bugatti Rimac HQ, attendance at performance showcases, record attempts, and even involvement in strategic discussions and R&D direction are all part of the package. These ten individuals aren’t just customers; they’re participants. The finer details of the experience are deliberately kept under wraps, known only to the Founders themselves, reinforcing the sense that this is something you’re invited into, not sold.

Driving something with 1,570 kW (2,107 hp) isn’t something you just hand over the keys and wish good luck. Rimac takes that responsibility seriously. Each owner receives specialist driver training from the company’s professional test drivers, who collectively have tens of thousands of miles behind the wheel of Nevera and Nevera R prototypes. After months of hand assembly and bespoke finishing, Mate Rimac personally delivers each Founder’s Edition car and supports the driver training process himself. It’s a level of involvement that’s almost unheard of at this end of the market, and a reminder that Rimac is still a company led by engineers and enthusiasts at heart.

At the core of it all sits the Nevera R itself, a sharper, more focused evolution of the original Nevera. Designed to shift the car’s character from Hyper GT to full-blown Hyper Sportscar, the Nevera R deploys its massive power through four independently controlled electric motors, orchestrated by Rimac’s advanced torque vectoring system. The numbers remain borderline absurd: 0–100 km/h in just 1.72 seconds, a top speed of 431.45 km/h, and 24 verified world performance records set in 2025 alone. Add a Red Dot Award for Product Design, and it’s clear the Nevera R isn’t just fast; it’s a statement of intent. Mate Rimac himself sums it up best. The Founder’s Edition is a thank-you to the early believers, the ones who backed an idea that once seemed impossible. But it’s also a glimpse into how Rimac sees the future of hypercars: not just as machines, but as ecosystems of experience, collaboration and influence. For the ten people lucky enough to receive the call, this isn’t just buying a car. It’s being invited into the story.
