THE TAYCAN TURBO S CELESTIAL JADE IS A CHROMAFLAIR - CARBON WORK OF EXCLUSIVE MANUFAKTUR ART

Deep within the Earth’s crust, under intense heat and pressure, a transformation takes place that creates one of the most sought-after gemstones in the world: jade. Over millennia, this mineral fuses and crystallizes, taking on mesmerizing patterns of green, gold, white, and even blue. Each shift in pressure or temperature during this process leaves its mark, telling a story of patience and time. It's this process that inspired the creation of the Porsche Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade, a one-of-a-kind masterpiece crafted through Porsche's Sonderwunsch program. This stunning work of art, designed by Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur in collaboration with Porsche Asia Pacific, captures the vibrance and deep cultural significance of Southeast Asia, paying tribute through both design and intricate symbolic detail. The Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade is built on the 2024 Taycan platform, which comes with more power, greater range, faster acceleration, and quicker charging. This all-electric Porsche packs in up to 700 kW of power, and with Launch Control activated, it can hit 100 km/h in a mere 2.4 seconds - 0.4 seconds quicker than its predecessor. What truly makes this Taycan out isn't its performance, it's the paint. Porsche has, for the first time ever, combined two Chromaflair effect paints to create a colour-changing masterpiece. This process wasn't easy as it took an entire year of development, with over 80 hours dedicated to the hand-applied paintwork alone. Chromaflair pigments use ultra-thin flakes that shift in colour depending on how light hits them. These flakes are only 1 µm thick, which is about 50 times thinner than a human hair. This mind-blowing paint technology isn’t just reserved for the body; it also graces the rear model designation, the “Electric” logo on the side, and even the key fob cover. The colour combo is a stunning blend of “Urban Bamboo,” a bright green tinged with yellow and gold, and “Shifting Carbon,” a dark grey mixed with black and blue hues. The result is as transcendent as the name itself: Celestial Jade. Jade is more than just a gemstone in Asia—it’s a symbol of nobility, tradition, and longevity, qualities that this Taycan embodies.

Carbon, on the other hand, represents Porsche’s relentless drive for innovation and performance. With its roots in motorsport, carbon is tough, light, and built to withstand the test of time. On top of that brilliant paintwork, the Celestial Jade features a specially designed logo with deep cultural roots. Inspired by the mythical LongMa, a powerful creature with the head of a dragon ("Long") and the body of a horse ("Ma") - the symbol is thought to bring great strength and good fortune. 2024 also happens to be the Year of the Dragon in the Chinese Zodiac, adding another layer of meaning to this unique vehicle. The horse, meanwhile, reflects the Taycan's name, which traces back to Turkish origins meaning “young horse.” This meaningful logo can be found in multiple places on the car: the front and rear door sill guards, the door projectors, and even the headrests, bringing a touch of mysticism to an already captivating machine. Adding to the allure of the Celestial Jade are the carbon-weave finish components, replacing the standard Turbonite-coloured inlays on the front bumper, side skirts, and rear diffuser. These hand-crafted carbon details have a varnish that allows the carbon-fibre structure to shimmer through in varying hues, depending on the angle. Even the airblades on the wheels have been crafted from this special material. Exclusive Manufaktur didn’t hold back when it came to creating a bespoke cabin, on top of the 10 standard leather and 15 seam colour options, the Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade debuts a new level of customization with its "Leather to Sample" program. For this, the interior is decked out in a combination of Slate Grey and Englishgreen, a dark shade of green that adds a regal feel to the doors, centre console, and seats. With over 150 colour options available in the “Leather to Sample” program, the possibilities for future custom creations are almost endless. This thing is stunning, even the regular showroom model is a proper badass EV, the only thing that needs to change is the Turbo badging - for obvious reasons.
