THE 7TH-GENERATION NISSAN PATROL HAS ARRIVED - AND IT'S A BEAST!

In a showcase of design and power, Nissan has just unveiled the 7th-generation Nissan Patrol, pushing the boundaries of what an SUV can be - and it’s a clear winner in the Intimidating Looks competition. Debuting in Abu Dhabi with all the fanfare one would expect - complete with royals, VIPs, and top-tier Nissan executives - the new Patrol takes a bold leap forward while staying true to its roots. You don’t need to be told that this is a Patrol, it’s so different yet manages to be the same, too. The all-new Patrol makes a statement with its commanding road presence. At the heart of its exterior is Nissan’s signature V-motion grille, now larger and seamlessly integrated into the body, giving the SUV an ‘unbreakable’ aesthetic that oozes strength and durability. Flanking the grille are enhanced Double C-shaped headlights with Adaptive Driving Beam technology, ensuring the road ahead is always clear. From the rear, a full-width light bar mirrors the front grille’s design, creating a balanced yet striking appearance. But it’s the details that truly elevate the Patrol’s look—like the available 22-inch alloy wheels that not only enhance its formidable stance but also promise high ground clearance for superior off-road capability. The Patrol's new colour palette is equally striking, with seven vibrant options, including four two-tone combinations that allow drivers to personalize their ride with flair. Adding a touch of sophistication is the new Puddle Lamp feature, which illuminates the ground as you approach the vehicle, casting a silhouette of the iconic Patrol and the text “Since 1951.” It’s a nod to the SUV’s rich history, wrapped in a modern package that exudes thoughtfulness and hospitality.

Under the hood, the all-new Patrol is as powerful as it looks. Leading the charge is a new 3.5-litre V6 twin-turbo engine, delivering a whopping 317 kW (425 hp) and 700Nm of torque. This marks a significant upgrade from the outgoing V8, with a 7% increase in power and a 25% boost in torque - making this the most powerful Patrol to date. For those who prefer a naturally aspirated engine, Nissan also offers a 3.8-litre V6, producing a robust 236 kW (316 hp) and 386Nm of torque. Both engines are paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission, ensuring smooth shifts whether you’re navigating city streets or tackling rugged terrains. The Patrol’s dynamic suspension, featuring e-damper technology, automatically adjusts to driving conditions, promising a controlled and comfortable ride. With its adaptive air suspension system, available as standard, the Patrol’s ride height is adjustable, making it as adept at off-road adventures as it is at cruising in comfort. The new Patrol also offers six distinct drive modes; standard, sand, rock, mud/rut, eco, and sport - allowing drivers to tailor their experience to the terrain. A first for Nissan, the 4WD transfer mode interlock system ensures seamless transitions between modes, making the Patrol a versatile beast, ready to conquer any landscape. The all-new Nissan Patrol is more than just an SUV; it’s a statement of intent. Blending a rich heritage with cutting-edge design and engineering, it redefines what a modern SUV can be. Whether it’s the striking exterior that turns heads or the powerhouse engines that deliver exhilarating performance, the Patrol is poised to carry its legacy into the future with style and strength and will surely be seen both in wealthy urban environments as well as off the beaten path where gazillionaires like to play in the sand with big toys. The UAE is most certainly going to snap up most of the models, but we’re hoping our mates at BB Motorsport will get their hands on these and make them even more badass.
