THE TEDSON ETNA: A SUBLIME GALLARDO RESTOMOD THAT PROVES TIME FLIES.
Tedson Motors, newly renowned for its exceptional restomod called the Daydream, has proudly unveiled the Etna - a masterful reinterpretation of the iconic Lamborghini Gallardo. This latest endeavour signifies Tedson's expansion into the realm of Italian supercars, solidifying its status among elite modern coachbuilders. The most important thing that we take away from this is that time flies, how is a Gallardo already the subject of a restomod project? Guess there aren’t many rules for what constitutes as a restomod, but still. Tedson founder and CEO Goran Turkić, a Croatian entrepreneur with a background in physics from the University of California, Irvine, embarked on his automotive journey by restoring a 1975 Porsche 911. This personal project ignited a fervour for reimagining classic vehicles, leading to the establishment of Tedson Motors. The company's inaugural project, the Daydream debuted in Monaco in 2022, capturing global attention. Building upon the Gallardo's aluminium spaceframe chassis, the Etna undergoes a transformative weight reduction of approximately 200 kg, which is achieved through full carbon fibre bodywork that enhances structural integrity while reducing mass, custom carbon fibre seats that merge comfort with lightweight design, titanium exhaust system that offers durability and performance benefits and track-inspired suspension that incorporates components from the Gallardo GT3 and Super Trofeo racecars. Etna’s track width is expanded by 6 cm on both axles, providing enhanced stability. Collaborating with JRZ Suspension, developers of the Daydream 911 suspension and Gallardo GT3 Cup systems, Tedson has engineered a bespoke PROactive suspension tailored for the Etna. At its core, the Etna houses the revered first-generation 5.0-litre even-firing V10 powerplant. Through meticulous reengineering of the internals and intake system, the lump now delivers over 600 hp and achieves a redline exceeding a bike-like 10,000 rpm which makes that aforementioned titanium exhaust system the only choice for listening to the 10-cylinder symphony.
Emphasizing driver engagement, every Etna is equipped with a gated manual gearbox. Recognizing the prevalence of E-Gear Gallardos, Tedson specializes in converting these models to manual transmissions, unless clients prefer an original manual base. If they do happen to prefer the latter, they’re wrong and they need to rethink what they know about driving. In an era dominated by hybrid and electric technologies, the Etna caters to enthusiasts yearning for an unadulterated driving experience. It seamlessly integrates timeless design with mechanical purity and advanced engineering, resulting in a driver-focused masterpiece that celebrates the analog spirit. Inside, the cabin blends modernity with classic analogue appeal, showcasing proprietary carbon fibre seats and unique interior solutions, more details will be released when the limited production run kicks off. The Etna also features an exclusive wheel design in partnership with California-based AL13 Wheels, the custom-offset 19” R110 wheels complement the car’s aesthetic - and they do this perfectly. They’re clearly inspired by the original hoops, but are just the next level up. The Launch Edition Series will comprise 9 units with deliveries commencing in mid-2026, but the overall production run is tipped to have a 77-unit total. Each Etna undergoes a meticulous 12-month build process, offering clients a spectrum of customization options, including exterior finishes, paint-to-sample colours, exposed carbon fibre, custom weave patterns, and distinctive interior materials and technologies.
