THE FIRST OF BUGATTI'S COMPLETELY BONKERS MISTRALS HEAD TO OWNERS - FIRST OF THE LAST W16 POWERPLANTS

After turning heads across America, the W16 Mistral embarked on a global tour, making its European debut at Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille before popping up at the dunes of the Middle East, the heart of Tokyo, the neon glow of Singapore, and the winding roads of southern France - the same place that inspired its name. Blending exquisite design with world-beating performance, the W16 Mistral is more than just a roadster - it’s the final showcase of Bugatti’s legendary W16 engine. This engineering masterpiece, paired with an open-top configuration, delivers a driving experience unmatched in the automotive world. In 2024, it cemented its status as the fastest roadster ever, setting a new top-speed record of 453.91 km/h. That’s rather rapid. Now, the next chapter unfolds as the first customer cars leave Bugatti’s Alsace-based Atelier for their new homes in the USA. Each W16 Mistral is a rolling piece of art, tailored to its owner’s vision. One of the first deliveries features a striking Black Carbon finish with Bugatti Light Blue Sport accents, a bold monochrome aesthetic that radiates power. Inside, Bugatti Light Blue Sport leather, Black Carbon matte details, and Beluga Black stitching create a cockpit as refined as it is aggressive. In contrast, another W16 Mistral arrives in pure white elegance. Its White Glacier exterior is accented with Blue Carbon, Atlantic Blue, and Italian Red - a tribute to both the Bugatti heritage and the American flag. A full carbon fibre engine cover with polished aluminium highlights completes the look, while the interior’s white leather and Lake Blue stitching add a sophisticated touch.

Both cars feature a signature Bugatti detail: Rembrandt Bugatti’s Dancing Elephant sculpture within the gear lever, machined from a single block of aluminium. In the black W16 Mistral, the sculpture is encased in Bugatti Light Blue leather, while the white version frames it in Italian Red glass, housed within handcrafted wood - a testament to Bugatti’s artistry and attention to detail. As the Chiron era closes and Bugatti enters a new chapter with the Tourbillon, the W16 Mistral stands as the ultimate encore - a celebration of an engine that redefined automotive performance. Now in the hands of its first owners, this extraordinary roadster ensures the W16’s legacy lives on, in its purest and most exhilarating form.

“The Bugatti W16 Mistral is not just a symbol of our commitment to automotive innovation; it also represents a spectacular showcase for the exquisite legacy of Bugatti roadster design and a beautiful closing chapter of the legendary W16 era. Exclusive, elegant, and powerful in every sense, it celebrates the majesty of a pure, elegant design vision, with a mastery of the laws of physics. It is a wonder of roadster engineering for the ages.” Hendrik Malinowski - Bugatti Managing Director.
