THIS MERCEDES 300SL CLONE WILL BLOW YOUR SOCKS OFF

Is this the best Mercedes 300SL clone ever? Yes, it is.

Wow, Just. Wow. This is a Mercedes Benz 300SL Gullwing but, well, it's not.
This is actually a replica built using fibreglass moulds created off an original, and it is spectacular.

Under the skin sits a Mercedes-Benz SLK chassis and other bits and bobs because the wheelbase is the exact same as the original Gullwing. The engine, though, is a supercharged six-cylinder Mercedes unit with 380bhp and the suspension has been upgraded to cope with the extra power. The wheels are custom designed and built for specifically for this vehicle, as are parts of the interior.

Everything that you can see inside the beautiful fibreglass body has been built for purpose, like the luggage on the back-board that houses sub-woofers, and the boot that displays a bar and suitcase full of fake money. The seats are original buckets from a Gullwing, as are some of the panels but the dash is custom and dials are from the donor SLK, while custom door glass makes the side windows functional.

Every body panel is identical to the original, and it shows. Original parts include the windscreen and rubbers, and that original grill cost 30 thousand dollars. But, every cent spent was worth it, because this car is phenomenal.

When Larry from Hoonigan AutoFocus asked if this is his best build yet, John from Slang500 simply said "yes". And that speaks volumes considering the incredible steampunk Porsche 356 he built too.

This is probably my favourite replica ever. Anyone who can build one of these for me... please get in touch!
