1. Lewis Hamilton: $46 million total earning with $38 million in salary/winnings and $8 million in endorsements.
2. Sebastian Vettel: $38.5 million total earning with $38 million in salary/winnings and $500,000 in endorsements.
3. Fernando Alonso: $36 million total earning with $34 million in salary/winnings and $2 million in endorsements.
4. Jimmie Johnson: $21.8 million total earnings with $16.8 million in salary/winnings and $5 million on endorsements.
5. Dale Earnhart Jr.: $21.4 million total earnings with $13.4 million in salary/winnings and $8 million on endorsements.
All these drivers are proven veterans of their respective series, but other sports like basketball and football are still far more lucrative, as shown by the list.
