VIDEO: SMASHING CARS WITH 4 TON WRECKING BALLS IN SLOW-MO

What could be more fun than watching the destruction of a wrecking ball used on a bunch of old cars? Watching it all in slow-motion, obviously.

For their latest video, Gavin Free and Dan Gruchy, aka “The Slow Mo Guys,” help promote the new season of Amazon’s The Grand Tour series by using a Phantom Flex 4K high-speed camera to film cars getting demolished by a giant, four-ton wrecking ball at 1,000 frames per second. They start out small, smashing a brick wall, but quickly move on to vehicles.

There are many ways to smash a car with a wrecking ball, and they have to try them all out, the results aren't extremely surprising, but they are pretty impressive to watch. Seeing cars get destroyed is not always entertaining, but when a four-ton wrecking ball is involved, it’s hard not to be at least a little bit interested. It’s brutal to watch, we just can’t look away. Watch for yourself to see how each car meets its fate.
