VIDEO: THE NIO E9 IS THE FASTEST AUTONOMOUS CAR!

The NIO E9 is an electric-powered, midengine, two-seat supercar manufactured by NIO, assisted by their Formula E racing division. It is a newly launched subbrand car from the parent company NextEV. The car holds several track records, including the record for second fastest Nürburgting Nordschleife lap time in a street-legal car.

Each of the wheels on the EP9 has its own motor and transmission. Each motor has 335.25 horsepower, giving the car a total power of 1,341 horsepower. The EP9 has an advanced torque vectoring system that can adjust the power output to each wheel, the battery can last up to 426 km before it needs to be charged and recharging takes 45 minutes, whereas changing the battery takes 8 minutes.

The exterior is made of carbon fiber and the battery weighs 635 kilograms. The EP9 can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 2.7 seconds, 0-124 mph in 7.11.7 seconds and 0-186 mph in 15.9 seconds. Its top speed is 194 mph (313 km/h) making the EP9 the third-quickest electric vehicle, behind the Tesla's Model S P90D and P100D models that launched with the Ludicrous mode.

So what is this supercar all about then? Well...It is primarily to create interest in the brand and showcase its engineering clout. NextEV will be a brand centered purely around electric cars, however, with a strong emphasis on connected technologies and 'user-experience'.
