VIDEO: THE TESLA MODEL S ' THE TOP CAR IN ITS CLASS

Once again, the Tesla Model S is the top ranked ultra luxury car, according to Consumer Reports, which restored the electric vehicle's ranking after a software update that brought back auto emergency braking at high speeds. 

The move in ranking has come more than three months after the Consumer Reports docked the Model S two points in its 100-point rating system – factoring in performance, reliability, safety and owner satisfaction. This pushed the sedan from the top!

The Model S score was lowered in April by CR as a result of the newer versions not having an emergency braking system that was supposed to come standard in all Tesla cars.

The AEB software update for this model began at the end of April this year. This restored some points for the Tesla, but CR still only gave one of two points because the updated braking system didn't function at highway speeds.
