TESLA YOU MOTHER TRUCKER YOU! ELECTRIC TRUCK LITERALLY DOES USA!

Tesla have successfully done a 2000 mile trip with the Tesla electric Semi truck and, with Elon Musk heading the monster electric automobile company, it makes us wonder; is Tesla exactly that or are they just a really well marketed battery producing centre? Hmm...

Even still, Tesla, without a doubt, seem to end up surprising the world over and over again.

While this Semi truck prototype is nowhere near ready for production, Elon Musk did claim on Twitter that this truck has made a cross-country venture, using Tesla's existing Supercharger network, which is Tesla's very own charging stations for their electric powered vehicle owners.

Ok! So, for those of you who don’t know yet, around the end of last year, Tesla unveiled its latest innovation in terms of trucks, the Tesla Semi, Why? In America alone, trucking contributes to about 23% of the total green house emissions.
Basically, trucks are bad for the planet. So I'm guessing, Tesla introduced this giant metal dildo truck thing, to fix the earth by alleviating CO2 emissions, by a lot, like millions of metric tonnes of carbon dioxide.

Popular Mechanics stated last year, “If Tesla can be the first to dominate this space, they are in for a windfall, as trucking is a 676.2 billion dollar industry according to the American Trucking Associations

Over 70 percent of all the freight tonnage moved in the U.S. goes on trucks, which requires over 3.4 million heavy-duty Class 8 trucks and over 3.5 million truck drivers.”

There, all caught up!

With help from a little math, we can determine that, that is a sh*t tonne, excuse the pun, of annual CO2 emissions and pollution that would be eradicated. Having said that, Tesla would either gain an extensive yearly income by almost instantly monopolising America's trucking industry or be violently attacked by enraged ex-truck drivers, who knows. Either way the planet would be a whole lot healthier, so not too bad.

The thing is, for a truck, that's electric, its actually pretty awesome! First off, centre driver position like a race car, noice! Oh and get this, it has one gear, so zero transmission, what is the "dude" version of, "I can't even"?.

It has a 500 mile range at maximum weight and highway speed, auto braking, apparently the brakes last forever, don't know about that, but that's what the "brochure" says, so yeah.
Alright, let's talk speed. 0-60 in 5 seconds with no weight – that's insane for a truck. But, at maximum weight it takes a little bit longer, we're talking 20 seconds. Still, that's fast for an 80 000kg truck to get going.

So, all in all, a pretty bad ass truck that took on America and made it 2000 miles. That's no emissions, a successful payload haul and, in my opinion, done in style. Yeah, this truck not only performs like a beast, it looks pretty dang awesome too. And the Earth gets to breathe a little, good times ahead... Well, for the Tesla Semi truck's future anyway.

What will Tesla do next!?
