Even more frightening than the launch and blast down the strip is realizing that your chute didn’t deploy and you are still going 200 plus miles per hour! These drag cars don’t really have anything in the brake department, and they rely on those parachutes to slow them down. Fortunately this drag strip has invested in an arresting area, complete with gravel and a net to stop runaway dragsters. It has to be an utterly terrifying experience realizing you aren’t stopping, and then white knuckling the steering wheel as you drive into the arresting area!
