Car racing is in inherently dangerous and often ends in crunched metal or worse – so, to illustrate what I mean, here are some of the biggest racing crashes of 2018.

Not only do you have to concentrate on what you're doing, but you also have to be aware of what your 20 or so competitors are doing too – that's just the nature of racing cars.

It sounds, then, that this should be something to avoid, right? Well, humans don't believe this to be true and, all around the world, every weekend, thousands of drivers climb into vehicles and propel themselves forward at speeds their bodies at speeds they were never built to go.

Needless to say, when things go right, racing is an incredible adrenaline rush, this is why we go back for more. When they go wrong, however, the results can be catastrophic.
