VIDEO: YOU CAN BUY THIS BENETTON F1 CAR ONCE DRIVEN BY MICHAEL SCHUMACHER

A historic race car driven by one legend is great, but how about one driven by three? That's the story of this 1991 Benetton B191B, once driven by Michael Schumacher, Nelson Piquet and Martin Brundle, that Bonhams will auction next month. Its the car Schumi scored his first two podium finishes in, and to this day, it wears his same livery, with his name on the side.

This Benetton B191B, Chassis #006, will be auctioned next month in Monaco, where it's expected to fetch between $250,000 and $320,000. That's a significant amount of money, but it actually seems sort of reasonable given its place in history. Before Schumacher's two third-place finishes in this car, Nelson Piquet drove it in his last ever F1 Grand Prix, and Brundle drove it in his debut for Benetton.

This car was built in 1991, and upgraded to "B" specs for the 1992 season. It uses a 3.5 liter Ford V8 making around 730 horsepower connected to a proper six-speed manual gearbox built by Benetton. Bonhams says the car is in working mechanical condition, ready to hit the track today. It also sounds incredible

Interestingly, it appears this exact car was auctioned by Bonhams in November 2014, with the same pictures and same auction description used. It seems the car wasn't sold at that date.

After Schumacher scored third-place at the 1992 Brazilian Grand Prix, B191B-006 was retired from Formula 1 competition. It might not be one of Schumi's championship-winning V10 Ferraris, but it's still a very important car in F1 history. Plus, it's gorgeous, and if you have the means and methods, you can take it to a track and live out your early 1990s F1 fantasies.
