VOLKSWAGEN'S APRIL FOOLS HOAX GET'S MEDIA ANGRY

Volkswagen's name change hoax gets the media angry as they say it was taken too far.

Prior to April Fools Day 2021, Volkswagen published a press release that it was apparently changing its name from Volkswagen to "Voltswagen" in order to help promote its electric future. Reporters didn't quite know what to make of the whole situation as it came far before April Fools Day.

However, the Volkswagen name change hoax didn't end there. Volkswagen released yet another press release, this time with a few words from the CEO about their apparent "Voltswagen" name change.

As it turns out, this was a complete hoax, in order to take marketing advantage of April Fools.

Since then, there have been many reports published by huge media and news agencies expressing their outrage on the Volkswagen name change. They say that the early April Fools hoax went way too far, and all the content written and created around this was a total waste of time.
