WHY DOES THE FORD F150 RAPTOR HAVE GRILLE LIGHTS?

Have you ever wondered if those grille lights on a Ford F150 Raptor serve any purpose, or if they are there just for looks?

Those three grille lights, embedded in the front of the Ford F150 Raptor, are so recognisable and desirable, that there are even aftermarket grille light kits you could buy for your Ford Ranger and Ranger Raptor. But what exactly is the point of having them?

Well, if you're in the market for some for your Ranger, then there is no point at all, but for the Ford F150 Raptor, it's got to do with being road legal.

The Ford F150 Raptor is so wide that it actually falls into another category of car entirely. And, because of this, the road safety law states that, if a vehicle exceeds a certain width, it needs to be fitted with additional front lighting. This is to make the car more visible on the roads – as if you won't see the biggest road-legal truck coming straight at you!
