WHY STEVE JOBS DIDN'T HAVE A LICENSE PLATE
This is why Apple co-founder Steve Jobs didn't have a license plate.
The late former Apple co-founder, Steve Jobs, was spotted driving around Silicon Valley in his favourite car in the world, a silver Mercedes Benz SL55 AMG, but with no license plate. Ever. But how did he get away with this?
There was speculation around him hating how the license plate looks on the car, hating the font, and even paying the cops a $250 fine every time he got pulled over. Others say he had a special arrangement with the police so he didn't have to drive with one in order to protect his privacy!
The actual reason is for exactly that; he didn't want to be recognised as he was driving around in public, even though some would argue that having no license plates would make you even more recognisable.
How he managed to pull this off legally though was that he would literally trade in his car every six months for a brand new one. Same make, model and even colour, and therefore he would never exceed the 6-month new car probation period which doesn't require license plates by law.
