WHY YOUR CAR'S OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE SENSOR ALWAYS SEEMS TO BE WRONG!

When in idle traffic, you often look at your car's outside temperature display and noticed that the display can stray a bit from reality.

Lifehacker explains that this is because the sensor telling your car's computer the temperature might not be in the best spot.

The sensor's low location puts it close to roadways - which are excellent at absorbing, storing and radiating heat from the sun. For a more accurate reading, the sensor will need the sun to be more blocked and get enough fresh air over the sensor.

The weather channel makes it clear that this situation isn't exclusive to warm climates or seasons, but the sun can make you unaware of black-ice inducing temperature on roadways.

We just hope that when you jump into your car, you've already had a good idea of what the weather is like outside!
