YOU CAN BUY GEORGE FOREMAN'S LAMBORGHINI DIABLO VT ROADSTER, AND IT COMES WITH A FREE GRILL
It’s easy to forget that Lamborghini made a roadster version of the Diablo. After all, only 200 or so VT Diablos were built, out of the supercar’s total production run of just under 3000. However, after drinking in the example seen here, I’m not sure that’s a bad thing. Looks pretty damn awkward with its roof up, no?
If you want one regardless, Mecum has just the thing for you at its upcoming Monterey auction. It’s a 1997 model, it’s done just 1907 miles, and it has a famous owner: former World Heavyweight boxing champ/purveyor of fat-reducing table-top grills, George Foreman. For an estimated $285,000 - $325,000, you’ll get a 5.7-litre V12 pushing 485bhp to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox, a removable carbonfibre roof, and some rather lovely tan leather in the cabin. As a bonus, you also get autographed boxing gloves, and - we’re not making this up - a signed example of one of Foreman’s trademark grills. If that isn’t a good deal, I don’t know what is.
It’ll be auctioned off to the highest bidder in Monterey on 20 August.
