BRIGHT RED AND READY TO RUMBLE!
A little bit of American muscle to tickle the senses never hurt anybody!
The Ford Mustang has been one of the most popular muscle cars ever since it was launched in the 1960's. The Mach 1 was pretty successful since it's launch in 1969, of which this red example is a 1970 model.
The Mach 1's original recipe was simple: It started with a V8 powered 'Sportsroof' body and added numerous visual and performance enhancing items such as matte black hood treatment with hood pins, hood scoop (including optional Shaker scoop), competition suspension, chrome pop-open gas cap in the rear, deluxe interior and that unmissable Mach 1 livery . The car also has a functional "Shaker hood", an air scoop mounted directly to the top of the motor, used to collect fresh air and so named for its tendency to "shake" above the rumbling V8 below.
The interior came complete with teak wood grain details, full sound deadening material and sport bucket seats. Ford kept the Mach 1 alive into 1970 and little changed other than the visuals. This baby is powered by a 302CU (4.9L) small block Windsor V8 motor, producing 210HP, which isn't that much in todays term but in the era that the car came out, it was definitely a good amount of power.
The car sits on a beautiful, timeless set of American Racing wheels, finished in black, with polished dishes.
Driving this car, you won't be the fastest against all today's boy-racers, but believe me, you'll definitely be the talk of the town, because let's face it, class never goes out of style!
