SHAKEN OR STIRRED, EITHER WAY THIS BEAST'S MADE TO DOMINATE

Shaken, Stirred, Wowed, Amazed, Stunned. That’s the feeling you’ll be left with after a close encounter with this track terror.

Ferrari’s have been and will always be great cars. They have pedigree, power, looks and a whole lot of sex appeal. Now while a road going Ferrari is awesome, it doesn’t really get more badass than owning a track-only Ferrari. You can only go so fast in your Ferrari on the road anyway, before you get into trouble with the law, or worse, a high-speed accident.

Driving on the track though, it’s a whole different story. You get to unleash the full potential of your Italian stallion, all in a controlled, safe environment with NO speed limits! How much fun you can have is only limited by your driving skills and of course the size of your balls.

Willem van der Westhuizen is the owner of this white knight and he races it in track events as often as possible, putting this weapon through its paces with every opportunity that arises. It’s very fitting then that this car carries a Martini livery, because after a few laps in this speed demon, you’ll definitely feel like you’ve had a few drinks forced down your throat.

The Ferrari F430 Scuderia GT3 is a purpose built car, from Kessell Racing, who specializes in building some of the best track-only Ferraris in the world. The car has a lightweight aluminium chassis and most of the bodywork is constructed from a mix of Kevlar and carbon fiber, known for its strength, weight saving advantages and greater rigidity. The car weighs a measly 1219kg, compared to the road going version which comes in at a much heavier 1517kg.

Inside the cabin, it’s a stipped out, focused affair, with FIA-spec rollcage, quick release Alcantara Ferrari steering wheel, digital dash display, full Alcantara dash and Sabelt seats and harnesses.

Handling is also next level amazing on these cars, and although they are fast on a straight line, it’s in their cornering ability where they really stand out. Achieving this greatness is thanks to its front and rear independent axles with double wishbone suspension, along with coil springs and 4-way adjustable dampers, for precision race setups that can be customised for any racing situation. Braking is also on point, with 6 pot Brembo calipers in the front and a 4 pot setup in the rear.

Powering this beauty would obviously not be anything less than a spectacular, thoroughbred, V8 4.3L engine. This stunner of a motor produces 550HP and 465Nm, as regulated by GT3 racing standards. The car is driven via the rear wheels only and a sequential 6-speed gearbox with paddle shift, makes sure that the driver can get through the gears as fast as humanly possible. Sticky Pirelli slicks are wrapped around BBS centre-lock racing wheels and the tyres measure in at a very wide 285/645/18 and 302/680/18 respectively.

The Ferrari F430 Scuderia GT3 is truly a world-class racecar and has seen great success and extreme competitiveness around some of the best and most respected racing circuits known to man. A force to be reckoned with indeed.
